Thank you to all who contributed books and funding for our very successful African Library Project! Project coordinator Janice Maggiora is proud to note that the book drive supporting a new community library in rural Malawi at Royal Secondary School resulted in a huge haul of more than a thousand books. The books are packaged and have been shipped to New Orleans. They will be on their way to Malawi in a few weeks in a shipping container along with books for more than 50 other libraries. With this project, LAUMC has joined the literacy warriors of African Library Project bringing books to communities and schools without books.
