The County is updating its vision and goals in a long range planning document. This is a countywide discussion about how the County should grow over the next 20 years

On September 14th from 2-4 pm the Planning Commission will have a public hearing on the Countywide Planning Policies.
On September 28th from 2-4 pm the Planning Commission will have a public hearing on the Shoreline Master Program (no net pens - yeah!)

Feel free to offer comments, even if you can't attend in person.

Soon there will be a survey mailed to a random sampling of islanders followed by public meetings scheduled around the county, all to gain your input on rural land use in the unincorporated areas. I'll send another notice out when those dates are set. Stay tuned!

Take the Public Health Survey                   

Island County's Community Health Planning is a collaborative effort to evaluate the health of our population, and coordinate the activities of many organizations toward improvement. Public Health staff is striving to identify and prioritize a few specific issues to focus on over the next 3-5 years, and commit to a coordinated plan to work toward those goals. That coordinated plan is called the Community Health Improvement Plan. The Community Health Assessment is the first step in our Community Health Planning process.
