Community Meeting Nov. 10
Last month over 75 South Whidbey residents came together because they shared a concern about drug-use and the increase of prowlers and burglaries in local neighborhoods.  A follow-up meeting is now scheduled to delve deeper into understanding and acting upon this problem. Please attend this opportunity to hear from regional expert Steve Freng, Prevention/Treatment Manager for the Northwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area. The Northwest HIDTA promotes community coalitions, supports public awareness campaigns, and other initiatives to reduce substance abuse and prevent the initiation of drug use. There will be time for audience questions and answers. County and City leaders will also be available to talk about local efforts and provide updates from the last meeting.

Attitude of Gratitude
cornucopia-flowers.jpg November is a time to count blessings and I have many to be thankful for; my family and friends, my County co-workers so dedicated to public service. I am thankful for our beautiful islands and the many amazing people who live here.

Veterans Day is next week and I am grateful for these men and women who served our country in the military and now enrich our community. Please support those who support our veterans, such as the South Whidbey Veterans Resource Center located at the American Legion Post 141 at 14096 State Route 525.
