The Last Blog Entry of The First Spanish Speaking Retreat:

Karme Ling!

After saying goodbye to Khenpo Rinpoche, 65 retreatants went on a trip to Karme Ling

"We traveled in two buses. As it is expected from a Hispanic Sangha, our first challenge was to be on time, all together and in an orderly fashion. Even if we didn't quite achieve this goal, we did manage to leave KTD for our new objective."

KTD says
Please come back soon!

We're missing you already!

"Any ordinary man can persevere as I have done."

-- Jetsun Milarepa, to his disciples.

"We often fail to do our daily practice due to lack of true reflection upon impermanence."

-- Lama Karma Drodhul

In his upcoming weekend teaching on "What Milarepa Teaches Us About Impermanence" August 16 - 18, Lama Karma Drodhul will:
  • Give a transmission of the famous yogi's autobiography
  • Teach the incomparable songs
  • Help us to understand and reflect upon Milarepa's life
Lama Karma Drodhul is profoundly well-equipped to offer these instructions, as he is from Milarepa's lands in this life, and grew up in the lineage of the master.

This is also auspicious preparation for Lama Karma's upcoming Ngndro Retreat September 13 - 15.

Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche's Birthday Plans Continue to Make His 90th the Best. Birthday. Ever!
From August 30th to September 1st, KTD will sponsor White Tara Long Life pujas in honor of Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche.

To enrich the sacred atmosphere of the pujas
and accumulate great merit for our gurus and the practitioners, we will construct special offering shrines in the KTD Main Shrine Room containing 100 sets of five traditional Buddhist offerings: Flowers ("puphe" in Sanskrit); Incense ("dhupe" in Sanskrit); Lamps ("aloke" in Sanskrit); Perfumed Water ("gende" in Sanskrit; and Food ("newidye" in Sanskrit).

Whether or not you are able to attend the White Tara Long Life pujas, you can participate in the merit by sponsoring sets of offerings here.

Note:
Since the first notice was sent out, the offering sponsorships have been going really well - please act quickly, so you can be part of it!
