Meet me at the Mansion!

Greetings from the Mansion!

1897 Shooting Sports Lithograph

This antique lithograph, promoting a popular shooting pastime complete with target samples, was chosen to introduce a special event showcasing the C.E. Conrad 19th-century Family Firearms.  On Friday, August 21 and Saturday August 22, the Mansion celebrates the return of the firearms on loan from the Montana Historical Society.

Two nationally recognized firearm experts will be at the Mansion to discuss the antique firearm collection.  Join Philip Schreier, Senior Curator at the NRA's National Firearms Museum in Fairfax, VA and Garry James, Senior Editor of Guns and Ammo magazine for an informative evening.

The Mansion will open at 6 pm. for beverages and hors d'oeuvres followed by a presentation by Philip and Garry.  The evening concludes with a question and answer period that will run until 9 p.m.  A matinee event has been scheduled for Saturday only beginning at 1 pm.  Tickets are $45 each and all proceeds benefit the Conrad Mansion Museum.

Don't miss this opportunity to meet nationally acclaimed experts in the field of antique firearms. We anticipate a sell out!  More details are contained below.

Thank you for your continued support!

Two additional tours are scheduled, this Friday, July 10 and Friday, August 14.  $30 ticket includes a 12-page color booklet of the collection.  For details, click here.

The tour was the subject of a feature story by Daily Interlake Feature Editor Lynnette Hintze.  Click here to enjoy the article.

Meet New Guide Katie Boharski!

My name is Katie Boharski. I am a born and raised Montanan and proud of it! I am currently attending Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington pursuing a double major in History and English. Growing up in Montana, enjoying time outdoors is a must, so my major hobbies include hiking, taking a dip in one of the many Montana lakes, and during the winter there is nothing more I love to do than ski on a fresh powder day.

I chose to apply to work at the Conrad Mansion mainly because of my passion for history, both throughout the world and right here in my hometown of Kalispell. Ever since I was a young girl, I have always enjoyed attending the tours of the Mansion and adored its unique and influential history. My position as a tour guide allows me to interact with many visitors as well as the Mansion's wonderful staff, and playing a part in communicating and showing this piece of Montana history is quite rewarding. I have future aspirations to enter into the education field, in whichever form that may be, and I am grateful for this position at the Mansion that allows me to help foster Kalispell's rich history for all to enjoy.
