Happy New Year from the Mansion!

2013 was a very exciting year at the Mansion, but now our attention turns to the new year.

40 years gift to city 2014 marks a 40-year milestone in the history of the Mansion.  In late December 1974, Alicia Conrad Campbell gave the Mansion to the City of Kalispell as a tribute to her pioneering parents.  Shortly thereafter, restoration of the house and grounds began.  The Mansion opened for tours in 1976.

The Mansion continues to be a community icon and tourist destination.  Because the Mansion is self-supporting, it relies on tour proceeds, special events, gift shop sales, donations, memberships and volunteers to stay open.

Thank you, as always, for your support of this local treasure!

Christmas Holiday Wrap-up

Guess who came to the Mansion?  Santa, bringing good cheer and glad tidings, surprised the staff at Christmastime.

He also acknowledged the work of the dedicated staff members who continue Alicia Conrad Campbell's legacy by maintaining, preserving and promoting the Conrad Mansion Museum.

Before Santa left to go up the chimney with a nod, he gave a big thank you to each member of the staff. Pictured from left to right: Ginny, Sharon, Mary, Mary, Cindy, Assistant Manager Margot, Mary Lou and Executive Director Gennifer on Santa's lap. (Photo courtesy of Karen Weyer Photography.)

Generous Donation - Thank You

This wonderful hp OfficeJet Pro 8600 4-in-1 printer was donated by the Marie Alguire Trust - Candy Stephens, Conservator. In addition, a complete box of ink accompanied the printer.

The previous, aged printer was tempermental, so the new printer was warmly received.  The office work of the Mansion can now continue without interruption.

Capes, Cloaks, and Capelets ~ The Winter Historic Clothing Exhibit Concludes

A huge thank you to Teresa Knutson and Sarah Safford for the  marvelous display of historic clothing during our special holiday season.

The changing clothing exhibits add so much to the tour experience. Anticipation builds around the Mansion until Teresa and Sarah announce a new theme for the upcoming tour season.  Much thought and research goes into the planning and execution of each exhibit.  The Mansion is indeed fortunate to have such talented volunteers.
