SEED Center Opportunities and Updates
 
As you take the summer to plan out the next academic year and new programs for your institution, let us know how we can help! The SEED Center offers opportunities to partner with mentors in the sustainability education field.

President Brad Johnson has recently signed the SEED Center pledge to join the network of over 480 colleges committed to building the workforce to support the clean economy.

The National Science Foundation and AACC partnered to host the Community College Innovation Challenge. Congratulations to Forsyth Technical Community College for their first place win and all participants for their work to support the STEM field.

The Higher Education Association Sustainability Consortium (HEASC) has released the Sustainable Development Primer for Higher Education Presidents, Chancellors, Trustees, and Senior Leaders. 

Welcome and thank you to our new SEED Presidents Advisory Cabinet Chair, Dr. Anne Kress of Monroe Community College in New York, and Co-Chair, Dr. Debra Derr of Mt. Hood Community College in Oregon. 
Spotlight Stories
Congratulations to Raritan Valley Community College and Hawkeye Community College for their recognition as U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools.  

Kalamazoo Valley Community College
KVCC recently opened their Bronson Healthy Living Campus to house the Culinary Arts & Sustainable Food Systems program, as well as healthcare programs.

Edgecombe Community College
ECC has focused its efforts on sustainability as part of the Code Green Super Curriculum Improvement project.

Tunxis Community College
TCC has recently launched a new A.A.S. Degree in Energy Management.
Trends and Partner Opportunities

Harvard Executive Education hosted a webinar on June 13, 2016 where four faculty introduced the core concepts of their Sustainability Leadership program curriculum. They shared their insights and perspectives from personal experiences in the program.

Second Nature and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) announced the finalists for the 2016 Climate Leadership Awards. Congratulations to our AACC members on this accomplishment.
