Congratulations to the student team from Harford Community College who won first place in the Maryland Sustainable Growth Challenge for their bike trail model.

This is how some community colleges have been celebrating Earth Day:

Montgomery County Community College hosted a sustainability fair before the grand opening of their new Sustainability and Innovation Hub.

St. Louis Community College hosted a Recycling Extravaganza in collaboration with the St. Louis Earth Day Festival.

Somerset Community College  held their 11th Annual Earth Day Celebration featuring exhibits from the Kentucky Reptile Zoo, among many other exhibits.

Rock Valley College is hosting multiple films and presentations leading up to their Earthapalooza.
Trends and Partner Opportunities

Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2) released their "Clean Jobs America" report which shows that 2.5 Million people work in the clean energy industry according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Higher Education Association Sustainability Consortium (HEASC) has released the Sustainable Development Primer for Higher Education Presidents, Chancellors, Trustees, and Senior Leaders.
