It is not too late to register for AACC's WDI 2016 Conference! Attend workshops highlighting workforce development and connect with other workforce development professionals from higher education, government, and industry. Cleantech Trends: New Community College Opportunities

Learn about the latest trends and opportunities in the green workforce. This session will highlight topics such as water, agriculture, buildings, energy, leadership, and diversity and how to grow and develop programs that support these areas.

Weathering the Crisis: Preparing, Responding and Recovering from Disaster
9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Learn about how community colleges help form the foundation of our communities and their role in the face of natural disaster and other crises. Gain knowledge on first responder training and learn from community college administrators as they share their experiences.
Cost: $150


SEED Center Changes
 
We would like to extend a welcome to our new Chair of the Sustainability Task Force, Patricia Hsieh, Ed.D. Dr. Hsieh serves as President of San Diego Miramar Community College in California. We would like to thank her and the Sustainability Task Force for their leadership and commitment to supporting the SEED Center's work.

We are also happy to introduce John Dyer, Director, Workforce and Economic Development, and Amanda Kosty, Project Coordinator, who will be leading the work on the SEED Center here at AACC. We are excited to continue our work on the SEED Center and help further colleges prepare the green workforce.

NIBS Better Buildings Project

The National Institute of Building Sciences, in collaboration with AACC's SEED Center, continues to help improve workforce development standards in building. We are looking for campuses interested in piloting this program.

 

Better Buildings Project, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, aims to provide updated standards to workforce development programs to assure sustainable energy requirements are being met. If you are interested in being part of this program or for more information, please contact Amanda at akosty@aacc.nche.edu
