Download the Report

Community colleges are positioned to be powerful partners in implementing a holistic local response to climate threats by:

    Helping the region plan for education and training;

    Developing curriculum and career pathways for a variety of occupations;

    Providing leadership in prioritizing community needs; and

    Brokering partnerships among community partners to shape climate action plans.

WEBINAR: Higher Education Building Resilient Communities

As colleges are designing curriculum to prepare students for jobs in the sustainability and clean technology industries and using on-campus living labs as "green" demonstration sites, they are naturally ready to transition into building resilient communities.

Community colleges have an important role to play as a workforce developer, community educator, and convener, and should be central to designing a coherent and sustainable local response to emerging threats and opportunities. This webinar will provide guidance and recommendations on engaging the community, planning resilience strategies, developing curricula and research, and will showcase best practices from colleges already paving the way to resiliency.
