AASHE Seeks Conference Proposals from Community Colleges

 

Submit a proposal for Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education's (AASHE) 2015 Conference & Expo, themed Transforming Sustainability Education, to share your achievements in advancing sustainability in higher education. The conference will be in Minneapolis on Oct. 25-28.  Submit a Proposal by March 2.


 CERET Train-the-Trainer Program

The Consortium for Education in Renewable Energy Technology (CERET) is accepting applications now through 3/15/15 for its Summer 2015 Renewable Energy Train the Trainer Academies in biofuels and photovoltaics. Stipends available. Learn More.


AMS Climate Studies Diversity Project

 

Second Nature and the American Meteorological Society are accepting applications for the AMS Climate Studies Diversity Project for minority-serving institutions for faculty members teaching atmospheric, oceanic, or climate sciences.  Apply by March 13.


EPA TRI University Challenge

 

The U.S. Dept. of Environmental Protection issued the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) University Challenge and is seeking project proposals for turning environmental data into understanding, pollution prevention and sustainability, and community engagement. Learn More.

SEED's New P
artnership with the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Better Building Guidelines

The SEED Center has joined the (DOE's)
Better Buildings Workforce  Guidelines project as the national lead in supporting community colleges. The guidelines for commercial building professions will help establish national skills standards and credentials that align with curricula and industry. We are seeking technical advisory committee members and colleges to test out the new Guidelines. Are you thinking about developing coursework in commercial building management or already offer this? Let us know and get involved.

The SEED Center presented the 2014 Green Genome Award winners  with plaques and praise at AACC's Workforce Development Institute in Newport Beach, CA, on Jan. 30. We honored the winners who are pictured in the photo for excellence in sustainability initiatives and clean economy workforce development programs.
