Great opportunities as the year comes to a close
Dear Colleagues,
As colleges start the holiday break the SEED Center is inviting its members to partake in two great opportunities. Last week we sent a data collection link to the college presidents of every SEED Member college. If you are with a college please keep an eye out for this email as it may likely get forwarded to you. It will only take 15 minutes and there is an opportunity to win a full stipend to attend AACC's Workforce Development Institute! This is your opportunity to talk about where your college is succeeding and where you need help to continue to build the green economy.
Also, don't forget to attend the SEED Preconference Session at the 2013 AACC Workforce Development Institute on January 30. This workshop, now in its 3rd year, is the premiere green workforce and education program in the country, taught by the country's best experts.
Happy holidays!
Sincerely,
Bryan Albrecht
Chair, AACC Sustainability Task Force
President, Gateway Technical College

SEED partner, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), is encouraging community college students to enter technical careers relevant to the DOE mission by providing technical training experiences at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) laboratories. Selected students participate as interns appointed at one of 15 participating DOE laboratories. Students work on projects under the guidance of laboratory staff scientists and engineers. Contact the SEED Center for any questions.

The SEED Center wants to help its members best utilize a new open source learning technology tool developed by the U.S. Department of Energy. It was designed to revolutionize how online training and education is created, shared, and delivered. NTER offers an easy to use and free distributed repository and specialized search engine just for education and training.
SEED would like to help you in determining the best way to integrate this platform into the creation and management of your green-skilled education programs. Contact us today to discuss how NTER can best serve you in the delivery of high quality green training programs. We will work directly with Dr. Michelle Fox, chief strategist of Education and Workforce Development for the Department of Energy and her team, to develop a tutorial that will best fit your needs. Also view the webcast recording of the DOE Webinar on NTER from 12/6/12 and read more on this tool at the SEED Center.
