The SEED Center's second anniversary, continuing to support colleges
Dear Colleagues,
Last month, the SEED Center marked our second anniversary. Over the last two years we have worked with colleges and partners to help advance sustainability and green workforce development practices at community colleges by sharing innovative models and FREE resources to increase the capacity of college leaders, faculty, and staff to build the green economy.
SEED now includes over 460 member-colleges. With your help, we have continued to provide tools to build your sustainability and clean technology as you work to develop your region's green economy. A recent example is The Community College Green Genome Framework: Integrating Sustainability and Clean Technology Workforce Development Into an Institution's DNA, which details a new framework to help colleges align sustainability efforts to economic and workforce development and offers an innovative online assessment tool designed specifically for colleges.
As we look ahead, be sure to attend the SEED Preconference Session at the 2013 AACC Workforce Development Institute on January 30. This workshop, now in its 3rd year, is the premiere green workforce and education program in the country, taught by the country's best experts. Ask about stipends!
The SEED Center looks forward to continuing to support colleges in these efforts. Please, contact us to share your stories, ideas, needs, and feedback.
Sincerely,
Bryan Albrecht
Chair, AACC Sustainability Task Force
