We all find ourselves changing gears in September, getting ready for the faster pace of Fall activities. And in the world of Social Media and Web marketing, there is always a new twist to keep us busy with the next learning curve! This month the focus is on Google.

If you have previously relied on the Google Keyword Tool to identify keywords to optimize your website and social media, you may be sadly surprised to know that Google has recently retired their Keyword Tool option. The new alternative that Google offers is called Keyword Planner. It can only be accessed from a Google AdWords account (which means that you now need to sign up for an ad account with Google).
The new Planner incorporates more advanced stats and traffic estimates, but leaves out some features we relied on, such as Global vs. Local searches.
Here's the link to the Google Help page that explains Keyword Planner -
GKWords.com. This will take you to a different page depending on if you are signed into your Google+ account or not.

I have also made a short video to help you understand keyword selection, with thanks to Robin Werling
