I urge you all to read it, and to consider all the times we are in vulnerable positions - both in our everyday practice of real estate and in our own personal lives.

Danger does not announce itself. Remember Colleen Ritzer, the teacher in Danvers who was raped and killed by a 14-year-old she had kept after school for minor discipline? She obviously did not feel at all endangered when she went to the restroom - which was where he followed her to commit his heinous crime.

It's in our best interest to have some training in self-defense. That knowledge and those reflexes are always with you to be used immediately, unlike a weapon or Mace.

RAD self-defense for women is a well-known national program. Wendy Bryant offers this class twice a year in Falmouth, but she will also come to your office, CCIAOR, or any other location, and will do this when it's convenient for you. Those of us who were at the August MLS tour got the benefit of seeing how dynamic she is, and how accessible the skills are. 

The cost for the training is only $25, and after taking the course once, a participant may attend any other classes at no cost, to refresh skills. I am personally grateful to Wendy for the skills, knowledge, and awareness I've developed as a result of attending this course.
