The highlight of the last couple of weeks was running into Guy Fieri, of "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" on The Food Network, as he and his crew were filming in Falmouth Wednesday night and Thursday.

Sheer happenstance! I was meeting a friend for dinner at Anejo, and an older red Camaro convertible caught my eye. It was parked in front of the Pickle Jar. Looking more closely, I saw a CA license plate; it said "FLVRTWN". Then I spotted that unmistakable white blond hair. Could hardly believe my eyes!

Rumor has it he stayed at The Seacrest, and is the celebrity chef for Tom Brady's "Best Buddies" event this weekend. From what I saw, he and the crew were relaxed, upbeat, respectful, and fun. Saw them filming again Thursday morning at Parkside, then at noon at Shuckers. I've heard he was also going to Dana's Kitchen. This is even better than the Julia Roberts sightings we used to have!

Thank you, Guy, for choosing Falmouth for your show! We're thrilled, and honestly, it looks like you fit right in. Come on back - and if you ever think about buying a house here, I know a good Realtor.

I won this gorgeous centerpiece! Can't remember the last time I won anything. This makes my eyes light up every time I look at it.

Mashnee Island mailboxes say a lot about that beloved community. Traditions of the "old days" still exist, and it's all about community.
