Finally, it wasn't freezing cold, or raining, or blowing to beat the band. I had no excuse not to pay my annual evening visit to the village green, to see the lights and scenes of Christmas and the large Chanukah menorah. So last night I hauled myself away from my cozy fire, bundled up, and made my way downtown.

The visit was really worthwhile! I had forgotten that it's the families who make it come alive. So the kids running around and dogs yapping were the true stars.
