Welcome to the Newsletter for Benedictine Living

To all who are joining the newsletter for the first time, WELCOME!  I hope that you will find it helpful and interesting.  To my long-time, faithful readers, glad you're back. The newsletter is now in a "Mobile-Friendly" form to help you more easily read it on a tablet or mobile phone (But please don't read while you're walking!)

If you would like to comment on the new format, good or bad, click here.

The change was a techno-challenge for me and significantly delayed my sending it to you.  I felt like this:

Not coping with the techno challenge

Oh dear.  Benedict says, "As soon as wrongful thoughts come into your heart,
crush them on the rock that is Christ
and share them with a spiritual mentor."  4.50

I hope that you had a good summer with time for rest, relaxtion and renewal so that you cope with life's challenges better than I.

Blessings,
Jane

Give-A-Toolbox Project
Donates Books Worldwide

Through the generous donations from Toolbox lovers across the country, 562 first editions of
St. Benedict's Toolbox were saved from the jaws of the nasty book pulverizer (See picture).  The books were given free of charge to Christians in churches, church-sponsored organizations and monasteries worldwide who cannot afford to buy books but who long for spiritual inspiration and practical guidance in the Christian life.  To see the list of places where books were sent and more about the project, click here.

To all who contributed to this project, many, many thanks!

Living Your Purpose

Do you know what your purpose is? Do I know what my purpose is? Are we each living our purpose?

To neglect our purpose is to neglect who God created us to be. So how might we discover and more fully live into the purpose for why we're even on this good earth?

A Tool for Living Your Purpose

In my article "Living Your Purpose" I shared clothing designer Eileen Fisher's experience of sitting in a chair, embodying her purpose and letting that purpose question her.  If you haven't read the article I invite you to by clicking here.

Let me hear of your steadfast
