2013/2014 School Calendar

Welcome to a wonderful new school year at Aspen Hill Montessori!

 

September:

September 3rd - Teacher's Professional Day (no classes)

  

September 4th- The first day of classes if your child is            

scheduled for this day. Please refer to the "Phase In" schedule from the school to your email, regarding times. There will not be a full day or b/a school offered on this day.

  

September 5th- If your child is scheduled for classes on this day please attend. We will offer a full-day as well as b/a school on this day. Please follow the time for our "Phase In" schedule.

 

September 6th- If your child is scheduled once again for this day please attend. This will be the last day to follow the "Phase In" schedule.

 

September 9th- Parent Orientation Evening: Please plan to attend we will look forward to meeting with you it is a very informative evening. ( Time: 7:00pm to 9:00pm)

 

October:

October 11th- Teacher's Professional Day (no classes)

 

October 14th- Thanksgiving Holiday (no classes)

 

October 24th-25th- Goal Setting Forms go home with the children.

 

October 30th-31st- Casual Dress Day. The children may wear Fall colors.

 

 

November:

November 6th- Parent Teacher Interviews

(Time: 6:00pm to 8:00pm) Our schedule will be posted well in advance for you.

 

November 7th- Parent Teacher Interviews (no classes)

(Time 9:00am to 3:00pm)

 

November 8th- Teacher's Professional Day (no classes)

 

November 11th- Remembrance Day (no classes)

 

 

December:

December 20th- Last Day of Classes  "Winter Celebration" in the classroom. Guests are invited to join us for a celebration from 10:00am to 1:00pm. (no regular schedule this day)

 

January:

January 6th - Teacher's Professional Day (no classes)

 

January 7th- Classes resume

 

 

February:

February 3rd -28th- Parent Observations

Parents will have plenty of opportunity to reserve a space for an observation date. Our schedule will be posted well in advance for you.

 

February7th- Kindergarten Progress Reports go home.

 

February 11th-12th- Casual Dress Days. The children may wear (red,pink,white).

 

February 13th-14th- Teacher's Convention (no classes)

February 17th - Family Day (no classes)

 

 

March:

March 6th- Parent Teacher Interviews for returning children 2014-2015 school year. Time: (6:00pm-8:00pm)

 

March 7th- Parent Teacher Interviews for returning children 2014-2015 school year. Time: ( 9:00am-3:00pm) (no classes)

( Please be sure to book an appointment if your child is in our current Kindergarten Program).

 

March 17th- St. Patrick's Day: Casual Dress Day please have your child arrive with (green) clothing on this day.

 

March 21st - Last Day of Classes before Spring Break

 

March 24th- April 7th- Spring Break Holiday

 

 

April: 

April 7th- Classes Resume

 

April 16th-17th Earth Day Celebration: Parents and Guest are invited into the classroom to celebrate Earth Day. Crafts and snacks and lots of fun! This is also a casual dress day the children may wear (blue, brown, green).

 

April 18th- Good Friday (no classes this day).

 

April 21th- Easter Monday (no classes this day).

 

 

May: 

May 9th- Mother's Day Tea: A very special event dedicated to all the mothers. Morning Tea: ( 9:30am- 11:00pm) and Afternoon Tea: (1:30- 3:00). Your RSVP will be appreciated and a schedule will be posted in advance. NO REGULAR CLASSES THIS DAY.

 

May 16th- Teacher's Professional Day (no classes).

 

May 19th- Victoria Day ( no classes this day).

 

May 30th- Children's Spring Concert: Guests and children will arrive at the school at 10:45am to 1:00pm. A reception will follow this wonderful event. Please be sure to have the children arrive in their full uniforms. NO REGULAR CLASSES ON THIS DAY.

 

 

June: 

June 12th- Father's Pizza Night. The children arrive with their fathers or guests and enjoy a fun pizza night. Time

( 6:00pm to 8:00pm).

 

June 19th - Last Day of Classes

 

June 20th- Family School Picnic ( 10:00am to 1:00pm)
