Shipments traveling through the Matadi Port in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the only entry-point to the DRC for sea shipments, may experience significant delays. This situation is attributed to insufficient dredging of the Congo River during the dry season to allow even low-draft vessels to travel at normal capacity. Delays up to 30 days or more would apply to all imports and export shipments traveling by sea to the DRC.
