Port Situation in Brazil
Brazil Flag

Wait times for docking in the Port of Santos have been delayed by 2 to 3 days for vessels arriving within their docking windows and in excess of 7 days for those which miss them. This is a result of adverse weather conditions that are affecting the schedules due to closure in various ports.

The Port of Santos is facing the challenges of meeting the increased demand with the two new terminals, Embraport and Brasil Terminal Portuario (BTP), still not fully operational and only two berths are able to handle vessels.

More than 43% of Brazil's containerized traffic passes through the Port of Santos and the delays caused by adverse weather conditions will inevitably have an impact on port operations. The same problem is being faced in Rio de Janeiro, Sepetiba and Paranaguá, although to a lesser extent.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will be updating any clients whose shipments are directly affected. If you have any questions, please contact your move manager, who can provide you with the latest available information.
