SATURDAY NOV 7 | 12:00 - 8:00 PM | ART EXHIBITION: Jeanne Steffan + Tom Skelly Ginger Elliott Exhibition Center in Memorial Park | 840 N Indian Hill Blvd | Artist Reception 6 - 8 pm
Paintings by Claremont artist Jeanne Steffan move you "presently into the past". Imagery bounces between Classical, Medival, and Mid Century Modern periods. Her paintings honor subjects before her time, while steering us back to the present. Steffan is inspired by the timelessness of good art, whenever and wherever it was made.
Tom Skelly's work alludes to the split-second drama of the performer in motion. Musicians and actors are the subjects of his inventive and glowing artistic output. The swift and expressive movements of performers influence his drawings and are often blurred to resemble an embryonic state of appearance. These "pictures of sound" are connected to his radio program called "The Sound of Pictures", which features a diverse collection of music for the screen, stage, and street corner. It can be heard on Sunday evenings from 7-10 pm on KSPC 88.7 FM and www.kspc.org.
The exhibition will also be open for viewing on Sunday November 8th from 12 noon - 4 pm. FREE
