Make the Energy-Agriculture Connection
|
The American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture has a proud partnership with the Tri State Generation and Transmission Association. In fact, the Power Up game was developed during our first year of partnership. On May 15th-16th in Denver, Colorado a Train the Trainer event was held for 12 leaders in agricultural literacy from across the country. Participants learned about the incredible parallels between agriculture and energy. We rely on each industry, but few people know where their food or energy comes from. Participants got their hands on great training resources and now you can too!

American Farmers and Ranchers
by Cortney Blimline
Farmers and ranchers
Most people take them for granted
Even though they don't realize it
When you buy fruits and vegetables
You are actually buying something a farmer once grew
When you buy milk
You buy a rancher's hard work
Without ranchers or farmers
We would not survive

My American Farm is committed to helping people understand where their food comes from. In our recent urban outreach events in Los Angeles, California and Harrisonburg, Virginia, we were able to help kids gain an appreciation for the agriculture industry and have a blast while doing it.
