Here comes the "Thunder from Down Under"
Team Canada 2016 Leaves today for Australia!    

 
 
(Carberry, MB - June 17, 2016) -- Please join CQHA in wishing Team Canada 2016 safe travels and the best of luck as they leave today for the American Quarter Horse Youth World Cup to be held in Tamworth, New South Wales, Australia. This international showdown, consisting of 13 youth teams from literally around the world, will take place from, June 23 to July 3, 2016.

You are invited to follow Team Canada's progress in any, or all. of the following ways:

1. Join the Team Canada 2016 Facebook page: where the leadership youth members will be daily posting photos and comments about all team's activities, clinics and competitions.

2. Like the  Canadian Quarter Horse Association's Facebook page: where we will also "share" the posts from the Team Canada 2016 Facebook page.

3. Follow the "Live Webcast"  from Australia's Youth World Cup 2016 website:

OFFICIAL OPENING - 24TH JUNE 2016;
CUTTING COMPETITION - 26TH JUNE 2016;
1ST SHOW - 30TH JUNE 2016;
REINING & TRAIL COMPETITIONS - 1ST JULY 2016; &
2ND SHOW - 2ND JULY 2016  
 
Throughout the competition, each country will ride for gold medals in cutting, reining, western horsemanship, trail, ranch riding, hunt seat equitation, hunter under saddle and showmanship. The Youth World Cup is more than just a competition - it offers a chance for international American Quarter Horse enthusiasts to learn from the industry's leading riders and trainers.

Representing Canada at international events such as this one, is a costly initiative and Team Canada members and their families are each responsible for fund-raising a portion of their travel expenses. Team Canada appreciates the many generous sponsors who have stepped up to the plate.
