Rule Change Proposals
Now is your chance to make a difference in your Association.
When I came on board with AQHA six months ago, one of the things that excited me most is the fact that AQHA is truly governed by its members. That is most apparent to those of us who have attended an AQHA convention. At this yearly event each March, member-submitted rule changes and suggestions are reviewed by the appropriate committees, which are also made up of AQHA members.
If you have an idea for changing a bylaw or rule to improve your Association, I encourage you to submit a bylaw and rule-change proposal form. The deadline for submission each year is December 31. However, the earlier you can submit your suggestions, the better our staff, committees and councils can prepare materials and communicate potential changes before convention.
We also have some handy guidelines to help you write your rule-change proposal, including providing multiple solutions and determining if other rules would be affected by your proposal.
I hope the 2016 AQHA Convention is an event with more member interaction than ever before. I look forward to hearing all of your great ideas and suggestions.

Through AQHA Affiliate Grants, MBNA Canada supports grassroots programs in Canada that directly benefit AQHA members. Each year, AQHA Affiliates receive funding to enhance or develop services for shows, races, youth activities, educational programs, public policy and recreational riding. Financial support from MBNA Canada benefits virtually every member program offered by AQHA.
