Canadian Interprovincial Equestrian Championships
Looking for Horses to Lease
Ottawa, Ont., July 29, 2015 - Equine Canada is proud to host the 2015 Canadian Interprovincial Equestrian Championships (CIEC) at Wesley Clover Parks' world-class facilities from September 25-27, 2015.
This is the first time that this event is being held in the Province of Ontario. This event provides local owners the unique chance to lease their horses to qualified riders from across Canada. In addition to supporting athletes from across the country and enabling them to enjoy this prestigious competition, owners of leased horses will receive $1,000 from Equine Canada as a lease fee. In addition, it is a great opportunity for owners to showcase sale horses and pique the interest of buyers in both local and national markets. In previous years, some CIEC athletes have even chosen to purchase the horse they leased for the event.
In order to help ensure safety, all leased horses must go through a pre-competition inspection, are subject to drug testing, and are matched appropriately with the rider of best fit.
The CIEC is a three-discipline event and is looking for horses to compete in Dressage, Jump, and Reining.
Requirements for Leased Horses:
Dressage
- Cannot have competed above Second Level in the current year.
- Must have competed in a Bronze level competition in the years 2014 and/or 2015.
Jump
- Cannot have competed above the 1.20m level in the current year.
- Must have competed at the 1.10m level in the years 2014 and/or 2015.

- Cannot have competed in the Reining Championships at the FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships (NAJYRC) in the current year.
- Must have competed in reining with a minimum score of 68.
