Notice to Members - Revised Bylaws for Equine Canada
Equine Canada has revised its Bylaws and is calling on its membership to review and vote on the proposed 29 draft amendments. The amendments are due in part to changes as a result of Canada's new Not-For-Profit Corporations Act which governs not-for-profit organizations such as Equine Canada. The amendments are also a reflection of renewed collaboration among the provincial/territorial sport organizations and Equine Canada, Canada's federal sport organization, whom together oversee the sport of equestrianism in the country, as well as the welfare of the horse and the horse industry in general.
A General Meeting has been called for September 22, 2012 in Bromont, Quebec, during the Canadian Interprovincial Equestrian Championships, for those who wish to vote in person. To read the revised draft Bylaws, and to learn how and when you can participate in the voting without attending the meeting, please visit the Equine Canada website

-30- Note to CQHA members: you must be an individual member of Equine Canada to vote. You may have purchased such a membership directly from Equine Canada. Or, you may have, knowingly or otherwise, acquired an individual Equine Canada membership if you purchased a 2012 membership in your provincial/territorial equestrian federation or horse council (included in your overall membership fee). To confirm check with Equine Canada or your provincial/territorial federation or horse council. |
