There's a Side for Every Season

I love it when Robert jumps into the kitchen with me, and he makes these spectacular buffalo burgers made with Bear Mountain Bison from our friends Anne and John Draper's ranch. To compliment his main dish, I often prepare my favorite side, Sweet Potato Fries. The garlic aioli I created to go with these fries gets rave reviews too! This recipe can be made with frozen sweet potato fries or fresh peeled and sliced potatoes (If you're using fresh potatoes, just decrease the cooking time a bit.) Of note: this aioli is a slight modification from the lemon-garlic aioli in my cookbook, as it has less lemon juice to better blend with the fries.

RECIPE

Ingredients:

Garlic Aioli:
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Sweet Potato Fries:
  • 1 bag (15 ounce) of frozen sweet potato fries, unthawed
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/8 teaspoon onion salt

Behind the Scenes:
A Well Seasoned Kitchen Remodel Continues

We're almost done...and we are beyond thrilled. There's a few pieces left (the custom mosaic, draperies, some furnishings) and a bit more installation happening, but our contractor (Encore Homes) and designers (Wm Oh's) are all very well apprised that our hard deadline is December 23rd, as the show must go on for Christmas. Everyone has been a dream to work with in this process...but we're excited to have our home back too!
