Here we are, right in the middle of March Madness, and I know that many of you couldn't agree more. Time has sped up a bit, and I'm witnessing many exciting changes underway or anticipated. March is always a busy time for feng shui as my clients prepare to build, move, change careers, open businesses, welcome new family members and see others off on new journeys of their own. Like all the great migrations in nature, spring offers us the opportunity to take risks and step out into the world with clear and certain vision. Chinese astrologers call early spring the time of insects stir, when yin yields to yang energy and life has so much potential.
In the cycle of five elements, each one owns a season and time. We've come out of winter's still water phase and gradually moved into the period of spring wood. Just as a tree requires dormancy and water, I hope you've rested well, planned your route and replenished your internal energy reserves over winter. If so, the spring awakening will be far more welcoming and you will feel motivated to get moving along with the rest of earth's living things. In feng shui, spring is linked to the wood element, early morning, creativity and optimism. It supports our ancestors, family relationships
(both roots and branches) and community. In business, wood energy represents customers, upstarts, introducing new products, growth and expansion. Wood's direction is forward, not reverse, so there's no turning back or away from this energy.
