2013 Year of the Snake
Are you ready for the year of the Yin Water Snake - Gu Si? The Snake is the sixth of the Chinese astrological animal signs, associated with wisdom, grace and mystery, and this year's is poetically known as the "snake in the grass." January is the busiest time of year for me, assisting clients with the Feng Shui of their homes and businesses and updating their Four Pillars of Destiny forecasts for the coming year. But as the Chinese New Year approaches on February 10, if you haven't already begun, it's a good time to finalize your own preparations. It is customary to complete many projects before the new year so that you can start off on the right foot, minus your baggage from the previous year. Remember, the energy all around you is constantly changing and the ideas and items that helped guide you through the Yang Water Dragon year in 2012 become obsolete in the year of the Yin Water Snake. In the coming weeks, I'll be keeping you posted on what to expect in the Snake year but in the meantime, here are 18 ideas to help you get started: Before February 9, 2013: - Clean your home and business thoroughly, including basements, garages, porches, attics and storage rooms
- Wash windows, touch-up or paint walls, clean filters, vents and drains
- Clear your clutter by donating, selling or disposing of items you no longer need
- Organize files, closets, drawers, calendars and schedules
- Clean out refrigerators and pantries and replace only the freshest and healthiest foods
