2009 Holiday Drive Success!
The NODCC operates entirely on donated funds and grants.  Thanks to your generosity in December, this was the most successful holiday drive we've ever had!  We raised 30% more than past years to benefit those affected by a DCC. In light of the economic times we are facing, we are grateful for the overwhelming support.

You may still donate by clicking here or email [email protected] for more information.  See a portion of our annual report below for a breakdown NODCC expenditures in 2009.

Thank you

The NODCC is proud to report that we spent approximately 80% of our income on program-related expenses in 2009.  Our Annual Conference, Family Partnership Program, Adult-Mentor Program, and Education/Information dissemination are the main programs run by the NODCC.

Program highlights from 2009 include:
1)  Hiring Donna Doherty, formerly of the ACC Network, to coordinate the growth of local, state and regional groups to make you feel more connected to people in your area.  This is in response to feedback from many people asking for more of a "local connection."  Donna is looking for volunteers to coordinate activities in every region of the U.S. and Canada.  Email Donna if you are interested.

2)  Formally launching our Adult Mentor Program with the goal of connecting adults with DCC to one another and supporting them and their families. This year's conference featured an "Adults Only" track and had a record-setting 23 adults in attendance.  Since the conference, these adults have set up and participated in numerous social networking opportunities including two video chats.  Email us if you want more information about the Adult Mentor Program.

3)  Outreach to Neurologists and Child Neurology Nurses through exhibition at the Child Neurology Society Conference.  Through this network, we are hoping to build connections, encourage DCC research, and eliminate some of the misdiagnosis that is still common for people with DCC.

The NODCC's total expenses in 2009 were $257,782.  The NODCC contracted with four part-time staff members: a Business Director, a Family Partnership Director, a Development Director, and a Conference Director to execute our important programs and serve the DCC community.

A complete annual report will be available at www.nodcc.org
in early March.
