A Blue Plan for Long Island Sound - calls needed to get a vote!

Long Island Sound deserves a plan to protect it from threats like Broadwater. That plan is the Blue Plan

SB 312 will inventory the Sound's natural resources and human uses, and develop a plan to avoid conflicts between them. The state Senate already passed the bill unanimously, but if it doesn't get a House vote by midnight Wednesday, it will die.

Please call your state representative's office--right now (they'll be at work til late at night!) or first thing in the morning. You can look up your rep's phone number here.

All you have to say it this: "I'm a constituent from ____ and I want planning and protection for the Sound's resources. Please ask Rep. ____ to talk with the House leadership about bringing SB 312, the Blue Plan, for a vote."

If you live in these districts, your call is especially important!

Brendan Sharkey, Speaker of the House (Hamden): 800-842-1902

Joe Aresimowicz, House majority leader (Berlin, Southington): 800-842-8267

Larry Cafero, House minority leader (Norwalk, New Canaan): 800-842-1902

Linda Gentile, House Environment co-chair (Ansonia, Derby): 800-842-8267

Your representative can help get this bill a vote. Please call right away. Tell the aide you're a constituent and ask if your representative plans to call SB 312 for a vote. Let us know what they say!
