Henry Mayo has seen tremendous accomplishments in 2012 and we want to thank our patients, community, donors, elected officials, board of directors, physicians, staff and volunteers for all of their efforts towards making these achievements a reality. Below are just a few of our successes this year:
Kim and Steven Ullman NICU Opens
After years of planning, Henry Mayo officially opened the Kim and Steven Ullman Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in June 2012. The new, 4,369 square-foot state-of-the-art NICU, has 11 neonatal beds, space for families and state-of-the-art monitoring systems that are serving the hospital's tiniest patients in need of exceptional care.
Cardiovascular Services Expanded
Henry Mayo expanded its Cardiovascular Services in 2012 to include a broad range of cardiac care services. From diagnostic care through minimally invasive interventions to open heart surgery and cardiac rehabilitation, Henry Mayo is ensuring the best cardiovascular care, right here in our community.
New Joint Replacement and Spine Surgery Programs
This year, Henry Mayo developed two new comprehensive orthopedics programs, Joint Replacement and Spine Surgery, using the latest techniques, technology and approaches.
 U.S. News and World Report's Best Hospitals List For the third consecutive year, Henry Mayo was ranked as one of the region's Best Hospitals, according to a national survey conducted by U.S. News and World Report. Henry Mayo outperformed400 hospitals in the state and is ranked by U.S. News and World Report's 2012-13 Best Hospitals among the top 30 out of 140 hospitals in Los Angeles. ER Wait Times Reduced and Patient Satisfaction Increased New, streamlined Emergency Department procedures were implemented in 2012 and have been successful in reducing wait times and getting patients to an ED bed within about 20 minutes and seen by an emergency department physician within an average of 30 minutes. 
Honored Nationally for Stroke Care
Henry Mayo was recognized in 2012 with the prestigious Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award, a national recognition for the hospital's commitment to, and success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care.
Recognized by Consumer Reports In the August 2012 issue of Consumer Reports, Henry Mayo was recognized for scoring in the top 20 percent of California hospitals for patient safety ratings.  Hospital Room Remodeling Improves Patient Experience New flooring, walls and fresh paint were some of the major upgrades at Henry Mayo in 2012, which were designed to create a positive patient experience and enhance the hospital's appearance.
Best Hospital and Best Place to Volunteer Santa Clarita Valley residents via The Signal's "Best of 2012" issue voted Henry Mayo "Best Hospital" and "Best Place to Volunteer" in 2012. Recognized for Pediatric Patients Readiness Henry Mayo's Emergency Department received high marks for its readiness to treat pediatric patients in 2012, based on a recent survey by the state's Emergency Medical Services Authority. Stroke Support Group Launched Henry Mayo's Stroke and Brain Injury Support Group was developed in 2012 to address the unique challenges facing stroke survivors, their caregivers and loved ones. Improves Patient Dining Experience
Henry Mayo introduced a new level of dining services "Expressly For You" in 2012 to provide a delightful and personal bedside-dining experience directly to patients. New Campus Signage Helps Patients and Visitors Locate Vital Services Getting to the emergency room and other areas at Henry Mayo got easier in 2012 thanks to new signage that was recently installed on the hospital's campus, providing clear direction for patients, visitors and emergency personnel.  Auxiliary Celebrates 50 Years of Service In 2012, Henry Mayo's Auxiliary Volunteers celebrated the Auxiliary's 50 years of service to the hospital and Santa Clarita community.
