I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far;    Philippians 1:23

My thoughts have been flooded this week with memories of Sandy Baker as I am positive yours have also. I had the privilege of being Mrs. Sandy's hairdresser for many years before answering the call to ministry. No matter where she was or in any setting, Christ likeness radiated from her and the room she was in. She loved God, Mr. Harold, family, her church, fellowships, friends and just life in general. This scripture verse is how I would imagine she might have felt as she laid her head over on Mr. Harold and took her last breaths in the overflow on Sunday, August 21st. With all of her love for this life and many friends and family members, the time had come for her to depart this world and receive her eternal crown. As we sang in Revival Service one night, "What a Day that will be, when my Jesus I shall see." When she saw the face of Jesus, I seriously doubt she was torn at all! What a reminder her life was for us to keep on pressing on with a glad heart and attitude of Christ.

Easy Peach Crisp....YUM!

1 29-oz can sliced peaches, drained
2 c all-purpose flour
1 1/2 c white sugar
1 pinch salt
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 c butter, chilled

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Layer the peaches in a 9 x 13 baking pan.  In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt and cinnamon.  Slice the butter into chunks and mix it into the dry ingredients until it looks like pea-size crumbs.  Sprinkle the crumbs over the peaches.  Bake for 30-40 minutes in the preheated oven, until lightly golden.

A scoop of ice cream might be really good when served warm.
