INSPIRATIONS
A one-of-a-kind marketplace from Steven Soderbergh

Steve Soderbergh does it again, this time with Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Watch this movie version, and think only about staging, how the shots are built and laid out, what the rules of movement are, what the cutting patterns are. See if you can reproduce the thought process that resulted in these choices by asking yourself: why was each shot-whether short or long-held for that exact length of time and placed in that order? Sounds like fun, right? It actually is. To me. Oh, and Steve removed all sound and color from the film...worth watching.

Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens Review

Sigma isn't a brand name that is often thought of in professional photography, but their new line of Art Lenses are pretty great. Note: This Sigma lens rates very highly under test reviews and is said to be better than anything else available, making the 37mp Nikon D800E a contender for Phase One, when budget is an issue. Auto Focus too!

Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens Review

Although not on the same level as the Zeiss Otus lenses, the new Sigma Art Lenses are an excellent auto-focus option for Nikon shooters, and probably the best option. Note: This Sigma lens rates very highly under test reviews and is said to be almost as good as the Zeiss Otus 55mm, making the 37mp Nikon D800E a contender for Phase One, when budget is an issue. Auto Focus too!
