Congratulations S1 Award Of Excellence Winner 2013 - Ryerson University - Lynsie Roberts
Lynsie Roberts grew up playing with dolls and daydreaming of fantastical stories. Her interest in photography was piqued during high school art class, where she staged a series of Barbie suicides for a final assignment. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Fine Art at Sheridan College and Ryerson University, developing a balance of fine art and commercial perspectives. Her thesis project, "Bad Taste", is a series of narrative tableaux that present a satire on taste and contemporary displays of wealth. Economics PhD Sebastião Salgado only took up photography in his 30s, but the discipline became an obsession. His years-long projects beautifully capture the human side of a global story that all too often involves death, destruction or decay. Here, the Mick Jagger of the Documentary Photography World shows breathtaking images from his latest work, Genesis, which documents the world's forgotten people and places. June 23rd Sunday - Save the Date. One thing about the current economy is a lack of fun social events for our industry. So we had an idea to organize a motorcycle ride. The weather is finally good, and what is better than getting together with like minded people in your profession. Everyone is welcome. No fees, just enjoyment. Ray Steinke & Craig Samuel are organizing the Ride starting on a Sunday morning, some nice riding, some nice scenery, and a few stops, maybe even some Go Carting!
