Dear Fellow Huskies,

Welcome to the February issue of PawPrints for the 2015-2016 school year!
Top Movies of 2015

Movies are a great pastime for all people and tell some of the most interesting and amazing stories. Some movies have even developed cult followings that love the movies despite anything wrong with them (or that love them because there is so much wrong with them). I decided to take five of the highest grossing movies from 2015 and polled 29 students about what movie they enjoyed most. Based on the poll I took, the newest Star Wars came out on top.

Did you know?
Martin Luther King Facts

*On September 20, 1958, King was stabbed by Izola Ware Curry after telling her that he was Martin Luther King Jr. Izola told him that she had been looking for him for five years and then stabbed him in the chest. He spent three hours on the operation table before being told that if he sneezed before the blade was taken out, he would drown in his blood. He was successfully saved this time, but he was not as lucky in 1968 when he was assassinated.

*His first year at Seminary, where he got his Phd, he received a C in public speaking. By his last year it turned to an A

*His honeymoon was at a funeral parlor and not because someone died. His friend owned the parlor.

*Dr.King's original first name was Michael. His father, who had the same name, was motivated by the reformer Martin Luther to rename both himself and his son after him.

*He originally wanted to marry a white woman but didn't think his father would approve.

Club Feature: Student Council

Student Council aims to create a fun and inclusive student body. Anyone in upper school is welcome to be a student representative. In order to have a core position, you must be a representative for a year; then you can run the following year. Everyone is only allowed to miss three meetings. Student body treasurer Rafi B. says, "I am included in Student Council because I want to create a stronger relationship between the student body and the members on student council. I also want to make a difference in my school." Rafi also says that student council "has multiple goals to make an impact, such as having a more streamlined way of connecting with our student body." You can thank student council for the fun pep allies, amazing school dances, bake sales, and more.

"You're not obligated to win. You're obligated to keep trying. To the best you can do everyday."
Stay tuned for the next issue!
