MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF SCHOOL
|
Outdoor Education Week is Upon Us!
With only minor apologies to those of you who have heard me talk about this in the past, here's my annual soapbox speech about why we do outdoor education, and why it's such a critical part of preparing our students (and us parents!) for success in college and beyond. The lessons learned over the years in our outdoor education program really do prepare our students for handling the inevitable bumps in the road they will encounter as life moves ahead.
On a more mundane but still very important note, if you are one of the few who have yet to check and confirm your contact details in MyBackPack, please do so immediately, because we will use our School Messenger service to text your cell phone on Thursday afternoon to let you know the expected time of arrival for your son's or daughter's bus. You should already have received a text asking you to opt in to this message service.
Huge thanks to you all, especially to the 8th grade parent coordinators, for another fantastic International Day lunch on Friday, always one of the highlights of our fall.
I look forward to seeing you early tomorrow morning (6:45 am) in the parking lot for outdoor education departure. (Seniors here by 8:00 please.)
Peter McCormack
