SUNDAY LETTER - SEPTEMBER 27, 2015
|
|
MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF SCHOOL
|
Do We Have Your Contact Details Correct? Please Check Now.
It was great to see everyone at Back to School Night. Your energy and enthusiasm is uplifting for us all who work on campus. On a personal note, a huge thank you for all your support, kind words, and prayers over the past eight months as I have tackled my major health challenge. My initial inclination to try to deal with it quietly and privately was trumped by my obligation to keep the school community informed. And I must say it sure felt wonderful to share my good news with you on Thursday.
Please take a moment to log into My BackPack and check that we have all your contact details correct. We rely on these details being complete and correct to facilitate our communications with you both in routine ways (Sunday letters, field trip notices, event reminders, etc.,) and in emergencies. Our emergency communication system, SchoolMessenger, communicates directly with your cell phone, so it is essential we have your current and correct cell phone numbers in our database. And we use the same SchoolMessenger system on the last day of Outdoor Education week (Thursday, October 8) to inform you, by text to your cell phones, of the anticipated arrival times of the buses from the various trips.
Please check now and confirm or adjust so that we may communicate with you effectively in Outdoor Ed week and throughout the year.
Peter McCormack

Rolling Hills Prep and Renaissance Schools have started a new Social Media group that is designed to bring the Husky Families together. This is a positive discussion and feedback group open to Husky Families of students at our schools. Our goal is to create an open forum for Husky Families to feel welcome, ask questions and find support from other Husky Families within our community. This page is managed, administered and monitored by the Parent Association Vice President, Shari Runnells and Communications Manager, Heather Ramirez. The link to join can be found on the Parent Page on either web sites or just click on the link below. Our goal is that everyone join! Two School, One Vibrant Community. We are all Huskies!

SENIOR SPEECH: SKY HOLCOMBE
|
I am blessed. Let me say it again, I am blessed. Even though I believe this with all my heart this does not mean I am protected from hardships or the evils of the world. Depression can be seen throughout my family history like a jagged scar making people cringe. My genetics destined me to have depression and despite all the advantages I have I could not fend off that monster.
It all started with moving across the country. When I stepped off the plane I became a different person. The urge to isolate myself in the dark cave I called a room was overpowering. All I wanted was to just fade into the darkness. School became a new form of hell...
