| TAKING CARE OF OUR KIDS | | |
Before/After School Registration
Registration has begun for Before/After-School child care. The YMCA School Age program provides an environment where children easily make friends, be part of a group, meet physical challenges, and know they are liked, respected and appreciated!
Spaces fill up fast, so make an appointment today to get your child registered for the 2013-2014 school year. Call Nick Johansen, Program Director, at (757) 867-3300 x 217 to make an appointment.
Kids Consignment Sale is This Month
Don't forget to mark this on your calendar:
The Victory Family YMCA semi-annual Kids' Consignment Sale is Saturday, September 14, from 7:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. and the half-price sale is the same day from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
Registration for consignors is from August 1 until September 8.
We sell quality children's clothing (infant - size 12), children's shoes, toys, games, books, furniture, baby equipment, youth/teen clothing and maternity wear. Consignors earn 60% and all proceeds benefit the Victory YMCA Strong Communities Campaign, our giving program for families in need.
Volunteers are still needed to make this event successful. Volunteer opportunities include sale organization and set up, sales floor, check out assistant, sale clean up and break down. Volunteers get to shop the "preview sale" on Friday, September 13!

| HELPING OUR COMMUNITY BY GIVING | | |
Did you know that the YMCA is a charity? The Victory Family YMCA is asking you to help your community by joining the 12-Day Campaign to raise $12,000 for our Strong Community Campaign.
Simply sign up to give $25 (or more) through your monthly bank draft from September through December 2013.
See the Welcome Center for more details.
And a big thank you to all our members and community friends that helped support Bright Beginnings back to school program. We were able to take 136 children shopping and supplied over 175 children with backpacks and school supplies.
The Power of One...
One tree can start a forest,
One smile can begin a friendship,
One hand can lift a soul,
One word can frame the goal,
One candle can wipe out darkness,
One laugh can conquer gloom,
One hope can raise our spirits,
And...one choice can change your life.
Choose wisely.
Make the Y your charity of choice and change a life today!
