Double Click Event
Submitted by Rhonda Kueffler, Web and Graphic Design Program Director
Nine design students from the Graphic and Web Design Programs and twenty technology students from the Microcomputer Support and Networking programs showed off their work at the Double Click Event: Design and Technology Student Showcase on April 22 and 23.
This event is the final requirement of the ITS 299 Capstone/Internship course. the course focuses on what students have learned in their previous classes and allows them to demonstrate their capabilities in preparation for the workforce.
Design students set up their portfolios of work in preparation to network with design professionals from the community on the first day of the event. Designers and developers from local advertising and marketing firms were excited and inspired to see these budding "New Creatives," ready to take on the challenges of the profession.
Tech students jumped into gear on day 2 and set up their booths, preparing to educate the campus community about Internet Security and Safety. Design students helped with printed and marketing material as the Techs captivated those in attendance with their invigorated communication and knowledge of their Internet Safety topics.
In all, the two events were a great success, giving our students a feel for the needs and expectations of the technology and design communities in and around Great Falls.
