Making Connections: Concept to Application
Dr. Charles Jennings, a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, has donated his time and expertise to the Great Falls College MSU anatomy and physiology students for the past three years. He enjoys the educational environment and is thrilled to see "so many people of all ages and walks of life furthering their own education."
His lectures enhance the students' understanding of the upper extremity by applying the concepts they have learned in the classroom and lab to patients he has treated. In addition to the lectures, Dr. Jennings also performs prosection sessions for students in the college's cadaver lab.

College House Groundbreaking November 26 at 9 am is the groundbreaking for the 2012-13 College House. Great Falls College MSU builds the homes in partnership with NeighborWorks Great Falls as on-the-job training for students in its Carpentry program. During the Fall and Spring semesters, the students work on every phase of the home, from the foundation to the roof. This year's project is a triplex condo unit located at 301 5th Ave South. This home will be sold to income-qualified buyers after completion. GFC Student & Business Owner is Giving Back
Melissa Dearth, owner of MAD Studios, Photography and Design, recently unveiled a new calendar project titled "Express Yourself." The proceeds from this self-designed project will benefit 11 local charitable organizations, including Voices of Hope, YWCA, Children's Receiving Home and Women Against Breast Cancer.
The calendar can be purchased for $20 at MAD Studios, 720 9th St. S. The "Express Yourself" calendar features local women modeling in "vintage" attire for each month of 2013, as well as November and December 2012. Dearth, a Great Falls native, designed the calendar, shot the photos, lined up costumes and even did make-up for the models. She worked four months to complete the project, which was printed at Lucini's Print Shop.
"I wanted to bring something to give back to the community," Dearth says, explaining her motivation. "Local businesses supported this and that's the only way I was able to do it." She opened MAD Studios in September after running a traveling studio for a year and a half. In addition to owning and operating MAD Studios, Photography and Design, Dearth is a graphic design and photography student at Great Falls College MSU and expects to graduate in May.
