"Bringing people and the arts together" is the motto of The Pavilion P
artners, the official volunteer organization of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Started in 1998, this organization has lent their support to The Pavilion's educational outreach and fundraising programs throughout the years. However P
artners giving spirit doesn't begin and end with The Pavilion.
Each year P
artners awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors planning to major in the fine arts. More than $600,000 has been awarded to students majoring in the fine arts. Scholarships are awarded based on talent and academic performance and students are eligible for scholarship renewal each year.
P
artners support for the performing arts goes deeper than volunteering at The Pavilion's performing arts events. Through the giving of scholarships the organization helps live up to the mission of The Pavilion by serving as a "resource for enhancing education."
This year P
artners awarded 20 new scholarships and 43 renewal scholarships. A scholarship reception honoring new recipients and their families was held April 29 at The Pavilion.
