Center Street in Downtown Berkeley comes alive with Eats, Beats & Brews, an exciting new block party featuring live music, an outdoor beer garden by Drakes Brewing and Triple Rock, and delicious food from around the world. Kick off summer vacation with friends and family at a free Sunday Fun Day celebration featuring local and internationally touring bands in Downtown Berkeley, across the street from the BART station. On Sunday, June 1, you can celebrate the 34th anniversary of Games of Berkeley with yo-yo demonstrations and lessons, GIANT versions of your favorite games like Gobblet and Rush Hour, colorful fun hula hoops and triple-sized playing cards! When you're ready for a break from playing you can chow down on some fantastic food from the local food trucks and the Cancun taco stand while you listen to a rhythmic playlist featuring Black Bones, Fito Reinoso and Ritmo y Armonia, and Los Tigres mariachi band with DJ Antonio spinning.

The David Brower Center is partnering with Voice of Witness , an organization working to illuminate human rights crises, to present a book launch and discussion on the state of labor in the global economy. Voice of Witness editor Corinne Goria will share the stage with Berit Ashla, the Executive Director of the David Brower Center, and the Invisible Hands narrator Bere Suanu Kingston, who will share stories and answer questions about his experiences with Shell Oil Company in his village in Nigeria.

Battle of the Early Bands! is a spirited and entertaining event, where five groups of outstanding young early music ensembles from all around the country will compete in various non-traditional categories (velocity/emotions/creativity/spontaneity, etc.). This battle is produced by Early Music America's Youth Advisory Board and will be narrated by Jeffrey Thomas of American Bach Soloists. Come ready to cheer, smile, and be dazzled!
