Please join the Berkeley Music Group, Mayor Tom Bates, city officials, and community nonprofit organizations for a major news announcement about The UC Theatre at 2036 University Ave., between Shattuck and Milvia, on Wednesday, April 23 at 2 pm.

The historic UC Theatre, a landmark in downtown Berkeley, was built as a movie theatre in 1917 and has been a destination for generations of people. The theatre has been closed since 2001. It's time to Turn on the Lights again! For more information see the Berkeleyside article HERE.

Refreshments will be served at 2 pm and the program begins at 2:15 pm. The news announcement will be followed by a tour of the UC Theatre and the opportunity to meet with members of the Berkeley Music Group team.

Join the city of Berkeley and BART for a Preliminary Design Open House. BART and the City of Berkeley are planning to reconstruct the Downtown Berkeley Plaza (Constitution Square), which will include renovation of the BART entrances, new bus shelters, and a redesigned Plaza. At the Preliminary Design Open House, participants will be able to review preliminary design elements and proposals, provide input, and identify issue areas and potential solutions.
