If You Build It, an award-winning design-themed documentary, opens at Shattuck Cinemas in Berkeley on February 28th, featuring filmmaker question and answer sessions during the opening weekend. If You Build It follows Berkeley-based designer-activist Emily Pilloton and her partner, Matthew Miller, as they implement a radically innovative design/build High School curriculum that transforms a town in rural North Carolina. Over the course of one school year, 10 students work-shop with instructors and ultimately build a Farmers Market (from the ground up) in the center of town, creating jobs and breathing new life into a struggling community.
