The Berkeley Juneteenth Committee invites you to come celebrate Harambee - "A Community Coming Together: African, Then American" at the First Annual Black History Month Celebration. The music of artists Kev Choice, Zulu Spear, Afrofunk Experience, and Akayaa Atule will be woven into the edu-tainment musical which will include poetry, drums, song, dance, video, and narrative. Berkeley filmmaker Doug Harris will present an excerpt from his current documentary film about Northern California's first Black Assemblyman from Berkeley. The film presentation will take a close look at Berkeley's Black history from a socio-economic and political perspective. Berkeley civic icons will also be honored with civil rights awards.

The Downtown Berkeley Association invites ALL lovers - gay, lesbian, straight, and other - to say "I Do" at the first-ever Valentine's Day Mass Wedding and drawing with the chance to win a mini-honeymoon in Downtown Berkeley! The mass wedding will be performed by licensed officiates: Berkeley City Council Member Darryl Moore, Berkeley School Board Member Judy Appel, and Berkeley Chamber CEO Polly Armstrong, with DJ O Aces spinning romantic tunes for the couples' first dance.
Audience participation is key to the drawing for the mini-honeymoons! Every person in attendance will have a chance to cast their vote for one couple - so bring lots of friends! The more ballots cast for a couple, the better chance they have at winning. Downtown merchants are also providing month-long specials during February for all lovers, couples and friends!

Triple Rock will be your destination for global whale chasing with beers from renowned breweries around the globe including Cantillon, Mikkeller, Drie Fontenein, and more. At Jupiter, however, you'll have a chance to sip and savor the barrel creations of brewers right in our CA backyard with beers from Russian River, Drake's Brewing, Almanac, and The Bruery as well as a few great out-of-state funky brewers like Jolly Pumpkin, Upright, Jester King, and Logsdon.
Sour lovers, mark your calendars, this is going to be a day you won't want to miss.

Downtown Berkeley is lucky to be home of the Bay Area's premier community and professional health care education and training center, Fast Response School of Health Care Education. Fast Response, through the generosity of owner Tom Peck, coordination by Staff Member Seana Edwards and instruction by EMTs Ashanti and Rachel provided pro bono CPR/AED certification to the DBA Ambassador Staff. The certification is undoubtedly an invaluable gift to the Downtown Community. A gift that could someday save a life. Thank You Fast Response!
