New 16-Story Hotel Planned for Downtown
Plans for a new 16-story 293-room hotel at the northeast corner of Shattuck and Center St. in Downtown Berkeley were announced today. The hotel will be located on the site of the current Bank of America, kitty-corner to the re-designed BART Plaza. New 12-Story Condo Project Planned for Downtown
A new 12-story 78-unit condo project is also planned for Downtown Berkeley, at the southeast corner of Shattuck and Berkeley Way. You can read more about the project on Berkeleyside HERE.
Eight New Planters installed by DBA on University Ave. Median
Lance Gorée and his team of Ambassadors, led by longtime Ambassador Robbi Montoya, installed eight large planters on University Ave between Milvia and Bonita with drought resistant succulents from Cactus Jungle. See all the photos showing the installation HERE on Flickr. We decided to do planters help add a pop of color to University Ave. which is the gateway to the Downtown district from the west, and we had some funds remaining in our PBID budget for this year. Hap Hollibaugh owner of Cactus Jungle in Berkeley has been wonderful in helping with design and providing plants at a great price for DBA. The City has also been very helpful in provide expedited approval for installation also.
