Great China Restaurant re-opened at their new location at 2190 Bancroft Way on Monday, serving both lunch and dinner. Their new location has an open floor plan with beautiful wood tables, big windows and an elegant decor. Their new expanded menu still has favorites like Kung Pao Chicken and Black Bean Sauce Sliced Pork, but now includes more dessert items. This Thursday, December 19, Paris Baguette will open for business at 2150 Shattuck Ave. right in front of the Downtown Berkeley BART station. Paris Baguette is a Korean-style bakery that bakes all breads and pastries on-site. Paris Baguette's menu will satisfy diverse tastes, from traditional croissants to red bean paste bread, as well as sandwiches, bubble tea, coffee and cakes.

Bay Area cabaret star Craig Jessup spices up the holidays with favorite songs by some of the world's most beloved composers, including: Noël Coward, Stephen Sondheim, Jacques Brel, the Gershwins, Richard Rodgers, and Lorenz Hart. From romance to comedy to sounds of the season, Jessup and pianist/music director Ken Muir bring new life to such classics as "If Love Were All," "Our Love Is Here to Stay," and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." A Swell Noël plays for only seven performances at Aurora Theatre's intimate cabaret performance space, Harry's UpStage.

Celebrate the good times with a 1970's Flashback Party! We are breaking out specialty small bites, passed pizzas, tiramisu etc.., and as the ball drops, we will host a champagne toast to 2014! Retro 70's disco will be played all night long from our house sound system. Boogie to the beat and win the best 70's Style Award! The restaurant will be taking reservations from 5pm-9pm for the dining-room and bar with our regular menu and a special, coursed pizza prix-fixe option. Space is limited and reservations are strongly suggested.
Ring in the New Year at Comal with the funky sounds of DJ Jose Ruiz and delicious antojitos! This New Year's Eve, Comal will once again clear out the tables, turn up the volume on our Meyer sound system and transform into a swingin' dancehall. Longtime Bay Area DJ Jose Ruiz will spin his infectious mix of Latin and funk, and chef Matt Gandin and his team will keep a steady stream of antojitos (little snacks) flowing throughout the night - with an emphasis on Oaxacan-style street snacks like quesadillas, de eses and flautas.
