Two free outdoor film screenings celebrate BAM/PFA's coming move to Downtown Berkeley. Copresented by the Downtown
Berkeley Association, Endless Summer Cinema will feature a pair of seventies cult classics set in the Bay Area: Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and Harold and Maude. Patrons are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs, and arrive early and eat at one of the many downtown restaurants. Also, Bittersweet Cafe and Cakes and Purls will be offering tasty treats and drinks on the Crescent prior to and during each screening.

Celebrating five years as the Bay Area's destination for environmental and social action, the Brower Center is excited to present SUPERNOVA. For one night only, the Center will be transformed into an intergalactic wonderland, with celestial sights, sounds, and tastes that will transport you to another realm. Featuring performances by Jinx Jones, DJ Liam Shy, The Devil-ettes, and Liss Fain Dance and complimentary cocktails and bites.

Stand Up for the Earth! Join Pulitzer Prize-winning poets Gary Snyder and Robert Hass, and others at the 18th Annual Watershed Environmental Poetry Festival. K-12 student poets from California Poets in the Schools, Poetry Inside Out, and River of Words international poetry and art contest will read under the guidance of poet-teachers Maureen Hurley and John Oliver Simon. World class jazz by The Barry Finnerty Trio. Come participate in the We are Nature Open Mic, and explore the River Village literary and environmental exhibits, a Creek Poem installation, and exhibitors from the East Bay Alternative Press Book and Zine Fest with Tomas Moniz, plus Haight Ashbury Literary Journal, River of Words, Sixteen Rivers Press, and more.
